The e-reader market is on fire lately. Readers and reviewers alike love the Kindle Paperwhite. Meanwhile, Barnes & Noble just dropped the price of its excellent Nook GlowLight to $119. Not to be left out of the e-reader battle, Kobo announced the availability of its new Glo and Mini readers.

At least, in Canada and the U.K. Sorry, USA.

On Friday, Kobo announced avability of the Kobo Glo and the Kobo Mini e-readers at select retail stores in Canada and the U.K. Kobo promised an October release of its new e-reader line in September.

The Kobo Glo is Kobo’s answer to the Kindle Paperwhite and Barnes & Noble Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight. The reader has a 6-inch e-ink XGA screen Pearl e-ink front-lit screen and is currently available for $130 (in Canada and Britain).

The 4- by 5.2-inch pocket-sized Kobo Mini e-reader is the tiny reader for on-the-go reading. This is the official e-reader for hoodie pockets. It’s currently available for $80 (in Canada and Britain).

So far, no word on the exact date of the U.S. release of the Kobo e-readers.
